Andrew Michal serves as Capano Management's Chief Financial Officer, bringing more than 30 years of experience advising C-suite executives, boards, and ownership groups on financial strategy, capital markets, and enterprise risk management. He is responsible for the company’s financial leadership across accounting, tax, treasury, capital structure, risk management, internal controls, and strategic planning for Capano’s diversified portfolio of commercial, residential, and development assets.
Working closely with ownership and the executive team, Andy provides disciplined, forward-looking financial oversight across the full investment lifecycle—from acquisition underwriting and capitalization, through development, stabilization, and ongoing operations, to refinancing and disposition. He partners extensively with operating teams, lenders, auditors, legal counsel, and investors to ensure strong governance, transparent reporting, and scalable financial processes that support Capano Management’s continued growth.
Prior to joining Capano Management, Andy spent over three decades in public accounting at KPMG LLP (previously at Arthur Andersen LLP), most recently as a Senior Partner in the KPMG’s Philadelphia office. In that role, he led large, multi-disciplinary teams advising public and private real estate companies, global investment funds, and high-growth platforms on complex transactions including IPOs, REIT formations, fund launches, recapitalizations, and M&A. He is widely recognized for strengthening financial governance, enhancing investor confidence, and guiding organizations through transformational change in highly regulated environments.
Andy is a licensed CPA and holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, with honors, from Lehigh University. He remains actively engaged in board and community leadership and serves as an adjunct professor at Villanova University.
