Capano Management is proud to announce the addition of Andrew Michal as Chief Financial Officer, bringing decades of financial leadership and strategic advisory experience to the firm’s executive team.
As CFO, Andy provides enterprise-level financial leadership across Capano Management’s portfolio, overseeing accounting, tax, treasury, capital planning, risk management, and internal controls. He plays a key role in aligning financial strategy with the company’s long-term business objectives, ensuring disciplined capital deployment, strong governance, and scalable financial infrastructure.
Andy works in close collaboration with ownership and senior leadership to guide financial performance across every phase of the investment lifecycle. From evaluating new opportunities and structuring capital, to supporting development, stabilization, and long-term operations, he brings a practical and forward-looking approach to financial stewardship. He also partners with lenders, investors, auditors, and legal advisors to promote transparency, sound governance, and efficient financial processes.
Before joining Capano Management, Andy spent more than 30 years in public accounting, most recently as a Senior Partner with KPMG in Philadelphia. Over the course of his career at KPMG and previously Arthur Andersen, he advised public and private real estate organizations, investment funds, and growing platforms on complex financial matters. His experience spans major transactions such as public offerings, REIT formations, fund launches, recapitalizations, and mergers and acquisitions.
Andy is a licensed Certified Public Accountant and earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting with honors from Lehigh University. He is also deeply committed to education and mentorship, serving as an adjunct professor at Villanova University’s School of Business, where he co-teaches a graduate-level course in real estate accounting and taxation. Andy also currently serves on the board of the World Affairs Council of Philadelphia, which promotes global awareness, cross-cultural dialogue, and educational programming throughout the region.
