Rosenfeld’s Big Fish Comes to North Wilmington
Locals in North Wilmington are gaining two excellent restaurants at one stop, with the newest joint venture of Rosenfeld’s Jewish Deli and Big Fish Grill now officially open in Capano Managment’s Plaza III on Marsh road.
Downtown Wilmington residents are familiar with Big Fish Grill on the Riverfront and Rosenfeld’s Jewish Deli near ChristianaCare, but this recent foray brings a selection of fresh seafood and a traditional, kosher-style deli restaurant to a wider market.
“We knew we wanted to be in North Wilmington,” said Eric Sugrue, co-founder of Big Fish Restaurant Group. “We looked at many different properties, and we felt that this spot has good visibility, even though it’s not in a big center.”
While the pairing may seem unusual to some, it is a model that has proven successful at the Delaware beaches, where the first Rosenfeld’s Big Fish debuted summer of 2021 in Bethany Beach. “They truly complimented certain things for each other,” Eric continued. “It gave the customer the ability to have a lot of menu options.”
With brightly lit display cases full of fresh seafood, slice-ready prime meats, and desserts, as well as shelves of packaged market options, patrons can shop for things at home or enjoy food right at the restaurant. Customers already have even more to look forward to, Eric says.
“Over the next few months, there’s gonna be a lot. It’s going to end up being a small little niche grocery store where you can get everything and anything – all your staples. You’ve got a dining room where you can have a meal, we will soon have a full bar, and you’ll be able to go there and watch a game. And of course, we have great catering options with platters for any event.”
